ELD Thailand
UNDP Hanoi counterparts on Professional
Writing skills training
ELD has been working with development organisations in South-East Asia since 2003, when we ran our first training courses in Lao PDR. Since then, over a dozen courses have been conducted in Vientiane. Also in 2003, we conducted our first regional training at the Regional Community Forestry Training Centre (RECOFTC), Bangkok. Participants represented Thailand, Cambodia and India. In 2004, ELD also conducted in-house work for the Hohenheim University Uplands Project in Chiang Mai.

sharing her experience
From January 2006, we piloted training services for the region at Bangkok, serving Thai development partners and civil society organisations, as well as partners from the South-East Asia region. With a small office located at Pratunam, Bangkok, and training conducted at RECOFTC in Kasetsart University, a total of nine training courses were conducted on Reporting Skills & Professional Writing, Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation and Developing Project Proposals. Participants represented a range of I/NGOs and project countries / nationalities included Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, China, France and Denmark.

2007 will see more consolidation of this work through further training courses and consultancy assignments in the region.
